Chicken meat production throughout Türkiye increased by 8.2 percent in February to 218 thousand 260 tons compared to the same month of last year, while chicken egg production decreased by 10.8 percent to 1 billion 547 million 93 thousand.
The Turkish Statistical Institute announced the statistics of poultry production for February.
Accordingly, 218 thousand 260 tons of chicken meat was produced in February. This production increased by 8.2 percent compared to the same month last year, while 6.4 percent decreased compared to the previous month.
Chicken egg production fell by 6.4 percent on a monthly basis in February and 10.8 percent compared to the same month last year. During this period, 1 billion 547 million 93 thousand chicken eggs were produced.
The number of chickens cut in February was recorded as 115 million 549 thousand with an increase of 5.8 percent annually.
In January-February, chicken egg production decreased by 10.4 percent compared to the same period last year, the number of chickens cut 8.8 percent, chicken meat production increased by 11.5 percent.
