Bonito declared his kingdom this season

With the lifting of the hunting ban, fishermen in Rize, as in all of Turkey, set out to sea saying ‘Vira Bismillah’. Fishermen have caught tons of bonito since the first day the hunting ban was lifted. Previously, the price of bonito on the stalls exceeded 200 TL, but the first day it dropped to 100 TL. Increasing day by day, bonito took its place on the stalls for 50 TL each with the increasing catch. A fish stall in Rize is also selling 6 bonitos for 100 TL so that citizens can eat bonito more cheaply. Fishermen expect the hunting season, which started with bonito abundance, to continue in the coming days.

“IT DIDN’T HAPPEN LAST YEAR, BUT THIS YEAR THE STALLS’ FACES ARE REALLY HAPPY”

Fisherman Abdulkadir Vural, who stated that citizens will have their fill of cheap and fresh bonito this season, said, “The new season is great. It continues beyond our expectations. Bonito is free. 6 of them are 100 TL, and there are also 50 TL each. Bonitos are very nice. It didn’t work last year, this year the stalls really smiled. People also smiled. Our citizens should eat plenty of fish. Both cheaply and freshly. Our expectations are good. According to what is said, there is a huge density of bonito in the sea. Hopefully it will continue for 2-3 months. Today is the 4th of September and it is going well. Our boats really caught a great harvest of fish. Our expectations are good. When the weather gets a little colder, after bonito, horse mackerel, anchovy, and bluefish start to appear. Right now, there is mostly bonito. Horse mackerel comes occasionally, but since most of it is bonito, bonito is caught.”
