While the Social Security Institution (SGK) is increasing its inspections to prevent irregularities in retirement transactions, investigations into fake insurance and false premium notifications have come to the fore again.

In the audits to be carried out by the institution, the insurance periods of people who are shown as insured even though they are not actually working will be considered invalid. The periods determined in this context will be deducted from the person’s total number of premium days. With the decrease in bonus days, the retirement of those who lose their retirement conditions may be cancelled.

According to the data shared by SGK this year, the retirement of 12 thousand 209 people was canceled as a result of the investigations carried out in the last 5 years. The institution particularly scrutinized the cases of people who were shown to be insured even though they were not working, those who obtained fake insurance through their relatives’ workplaces, and files containing false service notifications.

Authorities state that inspections are not limited to new applications only; pensions granted in previous years can also be examined.
