Around the headquarters of the United Nations in New York, US authorities have discovered a network of 100,000 SIM cards. There are indications of state actors.

According to their own statements, the US authorities smashed a telecommunications network shortly before the UN’s general debate began, which could have paralyzed all communication in New York. The network of 300 servers and 100,000 SIM cards would have been able to carry out “anonymous threatening calls”, switch off cell phone radio masts and enable encrypted communication between possible “threatening players” and criminal organizations, explained the Secret Service on Tuesday.

The Secret Service is responsible, among other things, for the security of important major events in the USA. The devices and objects he confiscated had been around 56 kilometers around the headquarters of the United Nations, the Secret Service said. You would now be examined in terms of crime. Initial findings indicated mobile phone communication between “state actors” from abroad and “persons known to the law enforcement authorities”.
