Russia attacks Ukraine with dozens of cruise missiles and hundreds of drones. Many people die again – this time also in the west of the country.

According to police, at least 16 people were killed in a serious Russian air strike in the city of Ternopil in western Ukraine. At least 64 people were injured after the attacks on residential areas in the city, including 16 children, the authorities announced on Telegram. Two nine-story buildings were hit and damaged.

Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko had previously announced that rescue workers were taking people out of the destroyed apartments. Pictures from the Interior Ministry showed severe devastation to the buildings. There were also massive Russian attacks in the Kharkiv region during the night. There were also more than 30 injured.

Ukrainian air defense counted 442 attacks with Russian drones and more than 40 attacks with cruise missiles. The country has been defending itself against the Russian war of aggression for more than three and a half years.
