Matrooshi, one of the two astronauts selected from 4 thousand people within the scope of the second of the UAE Astronaut Program, graduated from NASA’s relevant training program last year. Matrooshi is one of the UAE’s astronauts ready for space mission.
Matrooshi spoke to the AA correspondent at GITEX Europe 2025, the technology fair, which was held in Berlin, Germany with the participation of more than 1400 major technology companies.
Matrooshi pointed out that astronautism is difficult, and that being a man or woman is not important in this respect.
Stating that there is no gravity in space, Matrooshi said, “Therefore, it doesn’t matter if I can lift or remove something very heavy. Being astronaut focuses more on the character of the person.” he said.
– “It may be useful in analyzing elements that can change the biological components of astronauts”
Matrooshi emphasized the importance of the astronaut candidate to have the mental capacity to complete this education and emphasized that he should learn a large number of complex things in a short time and analyze a large number of data.
Stating that artificial intelligence can be very useful for space studies, Matrooshi said that astronauts can provide more time to make experiments instead of having to watch life support systems in space.
Matrooshi pointed out that the integration of life support systems is very complex and said:
“It is very important to ensure that astronauts are safe while doing science and experiments in space. I think that the use of artificial intelligence to monitor and integrate life support systems can be very useful in analyzing all elements that can change the biological components of astronauts.”
