The democratic governor Josh Shapiro and his family claimed to be awakened by police officers around two in the morning (local time). “Thank God nobody was injured and the fire was deleted,” wrote Shapiro shortly afterwards at X.

The police had previously announced that they were out of arson. The Democrat was temporarily undertaken last year as the possible vice presidential candidate of his party alongside Kamala Harris. The decision ultimately fell on Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota. Harris was defeated by Republican Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, who has been in office again since January 20.

In the 2022 governor election, the 51-year-old Shapiro had clearly prevailed against the Republican Doug Mastriano supported by Trump-a success that earned him great recognition within the democratic party.
