According to the Israeli army chef, the fights in the Gaza Strip are reinforced. The criticism of the new offensive is growing. The military chief says the war is not “endless”.
According to General Staff chief Ejal Zamir, the Israeli army strengthens its activities in the competitive Gaza strip. The Islamist terrorist organization Hamas is under great pressure, Zamir said during a visit to the city of Chan Junis in the south of the coastal area. The aim of intensifying the fighting is to achieve the declared war goals: to completely defeat the Hamas and to free hostages.
Israeli media had previously reported that the military had laid all of its regular infantry and armored brigades in the Gaza Strip. The armed forces are currently in use in various areas of the competitive coastal area. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had recently announced that the entire Gaza strip was taken. There is a massive criticism of Israel’s approach in the coastal area, where around two million Palestinians live.
The forces had started a new major offensive about a week ago. Dozens of deaths are reported in the Gaza strip every day. Zamir emphasized when he visited the troops: “This is not an endless war. We want to end it by reaching his goals. We want to defend the Hamas decisively.” However, there is increasing criticism in the Israeli population: According to surveys, many are in favor of an end to the Gaza War.
