Apple has added two more products, along with the iPhoneX model, to the “vintage” products list.
The US tech giant is stopping hardware services for old products and service providers are unable to order parts for old products.
In this way, Apple reduces the service and maintenance costs of old products and ensures that the company’s resources are used more efficiently.
5-YEAR-OLD PRODUCTS ARE ADDED TO THE OLD LIST
According to Apple, a device is added to the obsolete product list when it has been discontinued for sale for more than 5 years and less than 7 years.
Therefore, the iPhone X will no longer receive any support from Apple.
On the other hand, Apple added the 1st generation HomePod and AirPods devices to the vintage list along with the iPhone X models.
Here are the old products on Apple’s vintage list:
iPhone 4
iPhone 5
iPhone 6
iPhone SE
iPhone 8
iPhone 8 Plus
iPhone X
