With his drastic customs package, Trump has made the world an explanation of the world. Can the affected countries negotiate a deal to reduce the tariffs?
Eric Trump is Donald Trump’s youngest son and his former wife Ivana Trump. The 41-year-old and his older brother Donald Jr. lead the “Trump organization”. Now the Trump sprout on platform X has given advice on negotiations with his father. “I would not want to be the last country that tries to negotiate a trade agreement with Donald Trump. The first to negotiate will win-the last one will lose absolutely,” wrote the Trump son. “I saw this strip all my life.”
Eric Trump’s message should probably be a warning to the countries that the US President currently puts pressure on with his tariffs. Trump had announced the fight with a huge customs package trading partners all over the world. His government introduces new flat -rate tariffs of ten percent to imports from all countries. For many states, significantly higher punitive levies should apply depending on the trade deficit. New tariffs of 20 percent are planned for imports from Germany and other countries of the European Union to the United States.
The US President, however, was open to negotiations in the tariffs. “It depends. If someone says we give you something that is so phenomenal. As long as they give us something that is good,” said the Republican when asked by a journalist whether he was open to deals with the countries concerned. The tariffs would give the United States’ power.
Trump named the short video app Tiktok as an example. According to a US law, Tikok would have had to be sold by the owner of China by January 19-or left the network in the USA. But Trump admitted a mercy period of 75 days that runs on April 5. “We have a situation with Tikkok in which China will probably say: We will agree with a deal, but will they do something about the tariffs?” Said Trump on board the Air Force One presidential machine.
“We put ourselves in the driver’s seat,” said the Republican. In front of the tariffs, most countries would have said no if the Americans had asked them for a favor. “Now you will do everything for us.” A high -ranking government official had previously made it clear that the new far -reaching tariffs were not negotiable on imports from other countries.
Trump again emphasized that he assumed that many companies would shift their production to the USA. “Remember that there are no tariffs if you build your work in the USA,” he said. There will be a “transition period”.
