The crew of the Russian U-Boot “Novorossiysk” launched the “highest alarm level” during her passage of the Mediterranean. This is reported by the British newspaper “Daily Mirror”, citing Russian telegram channels.

The “Novorossiysk” is one of the submarines of the so-called Kilo-II class. These were developed in the 1980s and also sold abroad. The submarine is driven with diesel and can be equipped with nuclear warheads.
The “Novorossiysk” actually belongs to the north sea fleet, but was overtaken near Saint Petersburg. Then she had passed the Baltic Sea and took course on the Mediterranean and Syria. In NATO waters, the submarine was escorted by Danish ships.
