Abundant harvest in Hatay; The price increased from 22 TL to 30 TL

With the arrival of the summer months, the harvest of agricultural products that have reached sufficient maturity continues in Hatay. Onion harvest begins in mid-April and continues in June.

While the price of the product coming from the field in the first harvest was 22 TL, its current price has reached 30 TL. The recent increase in onion prices has pleased the producers.

While the yield remained low last year due to drought, this year’s rainfall increased the yield and 5 tons of onions are collected per acre.

Seasonal workers, who try to earn their living by traveling from city to city during harvest times, earn a daily wage of 1,000 TL by picking onions. The harvest of onions planted in March will continue until August.
