The ecel mobile system application, which was put into operation in order to avoid reflecting global fluctuations in fuel prices and exchange rate movements to the consumer, ended with the decision published in the Official Gazette. In order to combat inflation and prevent sudden price shocks in the market, the tax increase on gasoline was divided into months, similar to the regulation made for diesel in August.
The 12.47 lira price increase in gasoline, which was expected due to the return to the pre-ecel mobile system, was prevented by bringing back the SCT gradually, not all at once. In order to reduce the price pressure in the market, a “gradual transition” model was introduced for gasoline, similar to the regulation made for diesel in August. Accordingly, the SCT amount on gasoline was determined as 7.9000 lira per liter in October, 11.3600 lira in November and 14.8277 lira in December (pre-echelon SCT amount).
