Despite this decline, Borsa Istanbul, which is on the rise on an annual basis, is experiencing heavy losses today, following the warnings made by MSCI last night. With the declines experienced today, all the earnings of 2026 have disappeared.
BIST100 index in Borsa Istanbul started 2026 at 11,296.52 points. Following MSCI’s warning today, BIST100 Index is trading at 11,690 points at 11:41. While the Banking Index lost 1.95 percent, the decline in the Industrial sector index exceeded 4 percent!
While the Banking Index started the year at 16,615 points, it fell to 15,800 points with today’s decreases.
In banking shares, Akbank started the year at 70.10 TL. Today, it is traded at 66.86 TL. İş Bankası started from 14.15 TL. Today, it is traded at 12.86 TL. Yapı Kredi shares started the year at 36.38 TL. Today, it is traded at 35.78 TL.
Koç Holding shares maintain their gains despite the sharp losses. While Koç Holding started the year at 169.30 TL, today it is traded at 204 TL. Sabancı Holding started the year with 84.90 TL. Today, it is traded at 83.50 TL.
