A barrel of Brent oil is traded at $105.37 in international futures markets.
The forward barrel price of Brent oil, which rose to $107.33 yesterday, completed the day at $106.65. The December term barrel price of Brent oil decreased by 1.2 percent compared to the closing at 09.38 today, reaching 105.37 dollars.
At the same time, the barrel price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil for November delivery was determined as 92.46 dollars.
The decline in prices was influenced by US President Donald Trump’s statements that the Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire remains valid and the expectation that additional supply will be provided to global markets within the scope of the diesel agreement with Russia.
Trump argued that the energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine had been violated “on both sides” but that the agreement was valid.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha also stated in his statement to the RBK-Ukraine news agency that it may be possible for Zelenskiy to meet with Putin with the participation of Trump or with the mediation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The US President announced on Sunday that a ceasefire had been reached between Russia and Ukraine that would stop attacks on energy infrastructures. Yesterday, Ukrainian President Zelenskiy announced that the ceasefire was violated by Russia.
On the other hand, on October 9, after his meeting with Putin, Trump announced that they had agreed for Russia to supply diesel to the USA and global markets.
On the same day, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) under the US Department of Treasury announced that relevant transactions, including the sale, delivery, unloading and import of Russian diesel, were allowed until April 7, 2027.
In the written statement made by the Russian government, it was stated that the ban on diesel fuel exports was partially lifted in line with the agreement reached between Putin and Trump.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak, in his interview with Russian state channel Vesti yesterday, stated that his country has the capacity to increase monthly diesel exports to 3.5 million tons by the end of the year, and added that additional shipments will contribute to balancing supply and demand in global markets.
Experts state that additional diesel supply from Russia may alleviate supply concerns in global markets, while uncertainties regarding the Russia-Ukraine ceasefire keep the risk perception alive.
It is stated that technically the level of $ 108.54 in Brent oil can be watched as resistance and the level of $ 103.54 can be watched as support zone.
