According to Defense Blog’s news dated October 10, ASELSAN’s GÖKALP E1 interceptor UAV directly hit and destroyed its target at the Oğulbey Technology Base in Ankara. The information of the target detected by the AURA radar was transferred to GÖKALP via the DRONEDEF command-control system.

INTERVIEW UAV INSTEAD OF MISSILES
GÖKALP was developed to neutralize enemy UAVs detected by radar and electro-optical sensors by physical collision. The system, introduced at the SAHA fair in May 2026, is aimed to be used especially against FPV attack vehicles and one-way attack UAVs. The system, which can be placed on the vehicle, aims to offer a lower-cost alternative to expensive air defense missiles.
