European countries continue to dominate Türkiye’s automotive exports. The industry’s largest export market in September was Germany again. According to Automotive Industry Exporters Association (OIB) data, Türkiye sold 629 million dollars worth of automotive products to Germany in September. Germany was followed by France with 506 million dollars and the United Kingdom with 453 million dollars. Automotive exports of 349 million dollars were made to Italy and 116 million dollars to the USA. Germany’s leadership in Turkish automotive exports is not new. In August, Germany ranked first with 489 million dollars. In July, automotive exports to this country reached 602 million dollars.

One of the striking items in Türkiye’s automotive exports to Germany is the supply industry. The supply industry, which covers a wide product group from engines and engine parts to various vehicle parts, became the largest product group in Türkiye’s automotive exports in September. The largest export in this field was again made to Germany. Türkiye’s total supply industry exports reached 1 billion 460 million dollars in September. In the first 9 months of the year, this figure reached 12 billion 135 million dollars. The share of the supply industry in total automotive exports was 39 percent.
FRANCE STANDS OUT IN PASSENGER CARS
Although Germany ranks first overall in Türkiye’s automotive exports, the table varies depending on product groups.. The largest market in passenger car exports in September was France. While Türkiye’s total automotive exports to France reached 506 million dollars, this country ranked first in passenger cars. In commercial vehicles, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy came to the fore.

Turkish automotive industry exported 3 billion 940 million dollars in September. Thus, automotive maintained its first place among sectors with a 15.2 percent share in Türkiye’s total exports. In September, the supply industry exported 1 billion 460 million dollars, passenger cars 1 billion 98 million dollars, motor vehicles for transporting goods 800 million dollars, tractors 292 million dollars, and the bus-minibus-midibus group exported 251 million dollars.
EXCEEDED 31 BILLION DOLLARS IN 9 MONTHS
Automotive exports reached 31 billion 145 million dollars in the first 9 months of the year. 12 billion 135 million dollars of this export came from the supply industry. Thus, the automotive sub-industry alone constituted approximately 39 percent of the total sector exports. The European Union’s influence in Türkiye’s automotive exports continued. In September, automotive exports of 2 billion 890 million dollars were made to EU countries. This figure corresponded to 73.4 percent of the sector’s total exports.. In the January-September period, automotive exports to EU countries reached 22 billion 948 million dollars. The EU’s share in total automotive exports was 73.7 percent.
