An ammunition depot near Kyiv explodes again after a Russian attack. There are many deaths. President Volodymyr Zelensky reacts immediately.
In a Russian drone attack on a logistics center near the Ukrainian capital Kyiv According to the local governor, at least 37 people were killed. The number of victims could still rise, said Governor Tymur Tkachenko on Saturday after the attack the evening before.
According to authorities, the drone attack occurred on Friday evening in the village of Myla in the Bucha district. As a result, a fire broke out and there were several explosions, Tkachenko explained.

“There is significant damage to the surrounding infrastructure: residential buildings as well as a home for the elderly and the disabled were damaged,” wrote President Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram. In addition, dozens of people were injured in the attack on Friday evening, shortly after 8 p.m. local time (7 p.m. CEST).
One of the dead is the head of the Dmytrivka community, Taras Didych, who immediately rushed to the scene of the accident. More than 300 rescue workers are on duty. According to Zelensky, almost 400 people were evacuated in the area around the town.
Investigations in Ukraine after drone attack from Russia
According to the public prosecutor’s office, a company property was hit in the attack. Zelensky did not give any details, but wrote: “There are regulations: ammunition is not allowed next to houses and other residential buildings.” He referred to criminal proceedings that had been initiated.

The public prosecutor’s office had already announced that night that investigations had been initiated into “official negligence” and a Russian drone strike. According to Russian information, an ammunition depot was the target of the attack.
As a result, the main route from Kiev to the west had to be completely closed over a section of several kilometers long for fire-fighting and rescue work. Videos on social networks show a fire and explosions at dusk.
Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyj referred to a similar incident at the beginning of July on the southwestern outskirts of Kiev. “In the fifth year of the war, the same mistakes are being made – this is criminal negligence,” he wrote on Telegram. According to official figures, at least nine people died in July.
