Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced at the beginning of this month that the Ministry’s relevant organization, Türkiye Energy, Nuclear and Mining Research Agency (TENMAK), would launch Research Scholarship Programs. The program, designed in two categories: success and research, offers important opportunities to young people from undergraduate level to post-doctoral level.
ANNOUNCED ON THE SAME DAY AS YKS
The first of the TENMAK Research Scholarship Programs was shared with the public by Minister Bayraktar on the day the YKS exam was announced.
SUPPORT FROM THE FIRST DAY OF UNIVERSITY EDUCATION
Minister Bayraktar, who made a statement on social media, said, “I hope that the 2026 YKS results will be beneficial to our young people and their families. I heartily congratulate all our young people who work hard and follow their dreams with determination and wish them success in their university lives. On this occasion, we are launching our call for the TENMAK Undergraduate Scholarship Program, in which we will support our young people from the first day of their university education. Within the scope of the program, students who start their undergraduate education in strategic fields such as energy, nuclear technology, mining, boron, rare earth elements and advanced materials, will be able to graduate in 2025 or “We will provide a monthly success scholarship of 13,750 TL to 300 students who are placed according to the 2026 YKS success ranking, along with academic consultancy support throughout their education.” he said.

Minister Bayraktar said, “We will always support our young people who produce science, develop technology and add value to the future of our country. We will build the Turkish Century together with your knowledge, labor and achievements.” He also used the following expressions: Sharing that the application dates are 1-15 September 2026, Minister Bayraktar also included the website link where the scholarship application can be made.
27 UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
Undergraduate students who are among the top 100 thousand success rankings in the 2025 or 2026 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) and are placed in one of the 27 undergraduate programs determined by TENMAK can apply for the call for success scholarship.
APPLICATIONS ONLINE
Applications will be received online via the TENMAK Support System between 1-15 September 2026. Candidates will use https://girisimci.tenmak.gov.tr/burs for the application process. In addition, during the application, candidates will be asked for an undergraduate registration certificate and a document showing their YKS success ranking.
QUOTA FOR EACH UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM
Scholarship recipients will be determined among the candidates who meet the application conditions, based on the scholarship quotas determined for each undergraduate program. During the evaluation process, the YKS success rankings of the candidates in the undergraduate program they are placed in will be taken into consideration. For this reason, the success ranking of candidates who are eligible to receive a scholarship may differ depending on the scholarship quota determined for each undergraduate program. Details regarding the scholarship quota allocated to each undergraduate program and the evaluation procedures and principles will be announced in the application announcement.
STRATEGIC AREAS
With this scholarship program, successful students are brought into the research ecosystem from the first year of their university education; It is aimed to contribute to the training of qualified human resources in Türkiye’s strategically important fields such as energy, nuclear technology, mining, boron, rare earth elements and advanced materials. The program, which is expected to encourage young people to pursue careers in science and technology fields, is aimed to make a significant contribution to strengthening Türkiye’s R&D and innovation ecosystem.
EXPERT CONSULTANTS WILL BE APPOINTED
Within the scope of the program, consultants who are experts in their fields will also be assigned to each scholar. Thus, students will be offered career opportunities in the fields of activity of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
THE PROGRAM WILL BE EXPANDED WITH DIFFERENT CALLS
The scope of the program will be further expanded starting from next year, and scholarship calls will be opened for 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students and beyond.
