Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, in his statement on his virtual media account, said, “We are in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, to hold various contacts. We had a productive meeting with the Iraqi Minister of Petroleum, Mr. Basim Muhammed Hüdeyir. We evaluated the topics of cooperation that we can develop in the fields of oil and natural gas, especially the Iraq-Turkey Crude Oil Pipeline. The most effective use of the existing infrastructure and its support with new connections constitute the basis of our common vision in energy. In line with this vision, the Development Road Project is “We continue our work with the aim of transforming it not only as a trade and transportation corridor but also into a regional energy line. We attach importance to progress with a coordinated and close cooperation approach with the newly established Government in Iraq. We believe that the concrete steps to be taken in this context will take the partnership between the two countries to a higher level.”
