In the statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that efforts to prevent unregistered activities and consumer victimization in the second-hand motor vehicle trade, whose importance in the country’s economy is increasing day by day with the volume it creates, are continuing uninterruptedly.

In the statement, it was stated that within the scope of the Regulation on the Trade of Motorized Land Vehicles, those who are engaged in the trade of second-hand motor vehicles must obtain an authorization certificate from the ministry, and it was stated that to date, 84 thousand 804 businesses have been issued a second-hand motor vehicle trade authorization certificate.

In the statement, it was pointed out that regular inspections and inspections were carried out by the ministry in this field, and it was stated that administrative fines were imposed on real and legal persons who were found to be trading in second-hand motor vehicles without an authorization certificate, although it was regulated by the regulation.

305 MILLION LIRA FINE HAS BEEN IMPOSED TODAY

As a result of the recent investigations carried out within the scope of the Regulation, an administrative fine of 102 million lira was imposed on 176 real and legal persons, with amounts ranging from 400 thousand 680 lira to 1 million 402 thousand 380 lira, for each real and legal person who was found to be engaged in second-hand motor vehicle trade without an authorization certificate.

“The amount of administrative fines imposed in 2026 on real and legal persons who were found to be trading in second-hand motor vehicles without an authorization certificate by our Ministry has exceeded 108 million liras. The amount of administrative fines applied to date has reached 305 million liras. Our work and inspections will continue uninterruptedly in order to reduce unregistered activities in motor vehicle trade, prevent unfair commercial practices and consumer victimization, and establish a more fair and safe environment in the sector.”
