More deaths after Israeli attack in Lebanon

Despite a ceasefire agreement, the Israeli military continues to attack in southern Lebanon. According to preliminary information from the Ministry of Health, at least eight people were killed and 32 others injured in an attack on the outskirts of the coastal city of Tyre. Lebanese civil defense circles previously said nine people had been killed.

Shortly after the attack, the Israeli army issued an order for the entire city to evacuate. Lebanese security circles said there was Israeli shelling around the city. The Israeli military did not initially comment when asked.

The Israeli military also specifically called on residents and those remaining in the Christian parts of the city to flee. Many people had sought refuge there in the past few days after the remaining parts of the city had repeatedly come under fire. Some Christians in Lebanon are hostile to Hezbollah. The Israeli military accuses Hezbollah of hiding from attacks in the neighborhoods.

Deadly settler violence in the West Bank is on the rise

Violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank has increased significantly in the past year, according to a United Nations investigative commission. According to the report, at least seven Palestinians were killed and 832 others were injured – more than twice as many victims as in 2024. The commission accuses the Israeli authorities of enabling the attacks through financial and military support and of leaving settler violence largely unpunished for decades. Israel rejects these allegations.
