The date of Esenboğa Airport’s metro tender has been announced

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the construction tender for the YHT Station-Kuyubaşı-Esenboğa Airport Metro Line Project will be held on June 30.

In his written statement, Uraloğlu shared the latest developments regarding the metro line that will extend from the city center of Ankara to Esenboğa Airport.

Stating that they have made important updates in the project in line with increasing transportation needs and passenger demands, Uraloğlu said, “The line, which was planned with a transfer from Kuyubaşı Station in the first stage, has now been restructured to start from YHT Station. The route will extend from Esenboğa Airport to Yıldırım Beyazıt University, directly covering the important transportation and settlement centers of Ankara. Thus, direct, fast and comfortable transportation will be provided from YHT Station to Esenboğa Airport.” he said.

Uraloğlu noted that the line in question was designed to be 36 kilometers long and there will be 12 stations, including YHT Station, Hospital, Demirlibahçe, Siteler, Solfasol, Kuyubaşı, Kuzey Ankara, Pursaklar, Sarayköy, Fuar, Esenboğa and Yıldırım Beyazıt University.

– “After the tender, we will deliver the site and start the construction site installation.”

Stating that not only the route but also the station entrance-exit structures, station layouts, plan-profile drawings and other operational criteria were revised, Uraloğlu made the following evaluation:

“We have carried out a comprehensive study to ensure that the project reaches a structure that will meet the most feasible and current needs, integrated with the transportation system. We will hold the tender for the construction of our YHT Station-Kuyubaşı-Esenboğa Airport Metro Line on June 30. After the tender process, we will start the construction site by delivering the site.”

Uraloğlu shared the information that, as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, they have built a total of 44.5 kilometers of new lines in Ankara, including the Kızılay-Çayyolu, Batıkent-Sincan, Keçiören-AKM and AKM-Gar-Kızılay metro lines.

Reminding that in addition to the lines in question, they modernized the 36-kilometer line in the Sincan-Kayaş section and put it at the service of the citizens, Uraloğlu stated that, as the Ministry, they extended Ankara’s 23.1-kilometer rail system line by 80.5 kilometers and increased it to over 103 kilometers.
