According to Trump, there is movement in the US demand for restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program. He said at the White House that Iran had pledged not to seek nuclear weapons. “Iran is not allowed to have a nuclear weapon (…) and they have agreed to that,” he said. However, this has not currently been confirmed by the Iranian side. However, the leadership in Tehran has been asserting for many years that Iran’s nuclear program is purely civilian in nature.
Trump went on to say that Tehran had also agreed to other points – the Republican left it open as to what they would be. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also emphasized that the top priority remains the complete removal of highly enriched uranium from Iran and the dismantling of its enrichment capacities.

Tensions in and around the Strait of Hormuz continue despite the suspension of a US mission there. The US military said it attacked an Iranian-flagged, unloaded oil tanker and disabled it. A US fighter jet fired several shots at the ship after it ignored warnings from the US that it was violating the US naval blockade, the regional command responsible for the Middle East (Centcom) said on Platform X.
The tanker passed through international waters and was heading toward an Iranian port on the Gulf of Oman, it said. “The US blockade against ships attempting to enter or leave Iranian ports remains in full force,” the US military said.
