BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul started the day at 14,608.52 points with an increase of 0.10 percent.
BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul, which followed a buying-oriented trend yesterday, gained 1.28 percent in value and achieved the highest closing of all time with 14,594.01 points.
The index rose to 14,608.52 points at the opening today, with an increase of 14.51 points and 0.10 percent compared to the previous closing. The banking index lost 0.07 percent and the holding index lost 0.06 percent.
Among the sector indices, sports was the one that gained the most with 1.25 percent, and financial leasing factoring was the one that decreased the most with 1.87 percent.
Global markets are following a mixed course as peace talks between the US and Iran have reached an impasse and investors are being cautious.
While the conflicts and tension between the USA/Israel and Iran, which has reached its second month, continue to be the main agenda item for investors, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and increasing energy costs cause global inflation expectations to increase.
Leading economies and their central banks remain cautious in the face of inflation risks and growth risks arising from energy costs.
In equity markets, investors’ assessment that the chances of a hot conflict between the USA/Israel and Iran have decreased prevents losses, while geopolitical concerns suppress, albeit to a limited extent, the risk appetite that has increased with the intensifying balance sheet season.
Analysts stated that developments regarding the Strait of Hormuz and the course of oil prices will continue to be decisive on the direction of the markets.
Stating that the data agenda is calm today in the country and that the New York Fed consumer confidence index, Richmond Fed manufacturing industry index and housing price index will be followed abroad in the USA, analysts said that technically, 14,700 and 14,800 points in the BIST 100 index are resistance and 14,500 and 14,400 points are support.
