The Turkish defense industry has achieved another giant export success in the field of aviation. The official process for Türkiye’s first national jet trainer aircraft HÜRJET, produced by TAI, to be included in the inventory of the Spanish Air Force was completed with the signing ceremony held at Airbus facilities in Madrid.
TAI officials, Spanish defense procurement authorities and Airbus representatives attended the ceremony. Within the scope of the signed contract, HÜRJET will take its place in the skies of Europe to meet the training aircraft needs of the Spanish Air Force.
CRITICAL THRESHOLD HAS BEEN EXCEEDED IN THE EUROPEAN MARKET
HÜRJET’s export to Spain is of strategic importance as it is the first large-scale jet aircraft sale of Turkish aviation platforms to a European Union and NATO member country in the high technology segment. This cooperation is expected to take the defense industry partnership between Türkiye and Spain to a new level.
THE NEW ACTOR OF MODERN JET TRAINING: HÜRJET
HÜRJET, which has a single engine, tandem seat and modern avionics suites, was designed as a critical “jet evolution training” aircraft for modern combat aircraft with its superior performance features. HÜRJET, which stands out in the project to renew Spain’s existing training aircraft fleet, can perform not only training but also light attack and aerobatic demonstration missions with its multi-purpose structure.
It is evaluated that this success of TAI will serve as a reference for HÜRJET’s other potential customers in the world market and will increase its export potential.
