Deadly incidents continue to occur in southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire. According to Lebanese reports, female journalists also found themselves in the line of fire in Israeli air strikes.
According to Lebanese sources, two people were killed and at least one journalist was injured in an Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Health said the incident occurred in the town of al-Tiri.
According to the Lebanese news agency NNA, two people were initially killed in an Israeli airstrike in al-Tiri. The Israeli army said it had identified two vehicles that had come from a building used by the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia.
The statement spoke of “terrorists” who had approached Israeli ground forces controlling the southern part of Lebanon in a threatening manner. The Luftwaffe then attacked one of the vehicles. The building was then shot at.
The army is aware of reports that two female journalists were injured. According to Lebanese reports, the journalists are employees of the Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper “Al-Achbar”. One of them was still stuck on site.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) called on the international community to immediately put pressure on the Israeli army to rescue the Lebanese journalist. “Their lives are currently in danger! Continuing Israeli airstrikes are preventing rescue workers from reaching them,” the statement said.

The army denied claims that rescue teams had been prevented from reaching the area. The incident is being investigated. The area of the Israeli “security zone” is generally known. The Israeli army does not target journalists, but also pays attention to the security of its own troops.
Israeli soldiers remain stationed in southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire agreement. According to its own statements, Israel has set up a so-called “security zone” there, which is intended to protect northern Israeli towns from Hezbollah attacks. The Lebanese leadership, however, speaks of an occupation of its territory.
