For days, one question has been in focus in the Iran war: Will there be new negotiations in Pakistan? Trump is optimistic – also about a possible agreement.

Before possible further talks with Iran in Pakistan, US President Donald Trump sees his country in a strong negotiating position. Iran has no choice but to send representatives for further talks with a US delegation, Trump told CNBC in an interview. He thinks a “great deal” will be reached. “I think they have no choice,” he said of Iran. Trump also reiterated that the US would only lift its naval blockade of Iranian ports once there was a “final agreement”.

The ceasefire was good because the USA replenished its ammunition stocks during it. The US armed forces are ready to attack again, he emphasized.

Iran has also probably replenished its ammunition stocks “a little bit,” Trump said. The US intercepted a ship on Monday “that had some things on board that weren’t very nice, maybe a gift from China. I don’t know.” Trump didn’t elaborate on how he came to these accusations against China – but he said he was surprised. He has a very good relationship with China’s President Xi Jinping and thought he had an agreement with him – “but that’s fine. That’s just how war works, right?”

On Sunday, Trump announced that he would again send a delegation to Islamabad for negotiations. However, it remains uncertain whether a new round of negotiations will take place. According to state television, Iran has not yet sent representatives to Pakistan for talks with the USA.
