Iran: No negotiations currently planned

Iran currently sees no basis for new talks with the USA. What Foreign Office spokesman Baghai says about possible negotiations.

According to its own statements, Iran has not yet made a decision about further negotiations with the USA. “No decision has been made in this regard,” Foreign Office spokesman Ismail Baghai said at a press conference in Tehran. A further round of negotiations is currently not planned, said the spokesman.

Shortly before the ceasefire in the Iran war expired on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump announced his readiness for new negotiations. His representatives will arrive in the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Monday evening.

According to a report by the state agency Irna, the Iranian leadership is now rejecting another meeting with US representatives.
