Trump threatens Iran again. Iran apparently continues to attack other countries. All developments in the news blog.

Ahead of the planned negotiations between the USA and Iran in Pakistan, US President Donald Trump is sending a martial threat to Tehran. The Iranians did not seem to understand that they had no leverage “apart from the short-term blackmail of the world” with the Strait of Hormuz, he wrote on the Truth Social platform. “The only reason they’re alive today is to negotiate!”

During the war with Iran, Trump repeatedly caused a stir with his martial language, which brought him a lot of criticism internationally, but also at home.

UN Human Rights Commissioner Volker Türk has condemned the continued killing of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. “The relentless wave of killings reflects the ongoing disregard for Palestinian people, made possible by widespread impunity,” Türk said in a statement on Friday.

According to Lebanese authorities, 13 security forces were killed in an Israeli attack on a government building in the southern Lebanese town of Nabatieh. The German Press Agency learned from Lebanese security circles that Nabatieh and surrounding areas had been badly hit by Israeli air and artillery attacks.

The 13 people killed are said to be employees of the domestic intelligence service. In Lebanon, he is responsible for the fight against espionage and terrorism and for securing government buildings. The intelligence service condemned the attack and accused Israel of targeting both security forces and civilians in Lebanon.

Before the peace talks between Iran and the USA, the Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf set conditions for the start of the negotiations. “Two of the measures agreed upon by the parties still need to be implemented: a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of Iranian assets before negotiations begin,” Ghalibaf wrote on the X online service on Friday.

“These two questions need to be clarified before the talks begin,” Ghalibaf added. The talks are scheduled to take place in Pakistan, and US Vice President JD Vance is expected in the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Saturday. The speaker made the comments shortly after Vance left the United States. The Republican had previously warned the Iranian side against “playing games.” Ghalibaf and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are expected to lead the Iranian delegation at the talks.
