Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy metro line broke a record with 45 thousand 981 passengers on April 6.

Uraloğlu made a written statement regarding the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy metro line.

Stating that the line in question carried a record number of passengers with 44 thousand 467 on February 16 and 44 thousand 887 on April 3, Uraloğlu said, “The number of passengers of our line continues to increase exponentially every day. It renewed its record with 45 thousand 981 passengers on April 6. We have served 30.5 million passengers since the Cargo Terminal-Kağıthane stage of our line was put into service in 2023.” he said.

Pointing out that the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy line, which includes many “bests”, is one of the longest metro lines in Istanbul, Uraloğlu said:

“Türkiye’s fastest metro gives Istanbul traffic a breath of fresh air. Our line, which brings together stops with heavy passenger traffic such as Gayrettepe, Kağıthane, Kemerburgaz, Göktürk and Istanbul Airport, allows more than 1 million passengers on average to travel faster, safer and more comfortably every month. Approximately 28.5 percent of the total number of passengers use our Gayrettepe station.”
