The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul lost 0.13 percent of its value in the first half of the day, falling to 12,681.33 points.
BIST 100 index, which moved in a downward trend in the first half of the day, fell to 12,681.33 points as of 13:00, with a decrease of 16.86 points and 0.13 percent compared to the previous closing.
The total transaction volume was 45.8 billion lira. While the banking index lost 0.62 percent of its value, the holding index gained 0.14 percent.
In the sector indices, the highest increase was chemical petroleum plastics with 1.86 percent, and the highest decrease was real estate investment trust with 1.54 percent.
While a negative trend stood out in global markets due to the rising risks in the Middle East and the increase in energy prices, the BIST 100 index, although it started the day positively, completed the first half of the day with a decline in parallel with the global markets.
According to domestic data, the economic confidence index decreased by 2.8 percent on a monthly basis in March, reaching 97.9.
Analysts stated that US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell’s statements and inflation data in Germany will be followed for the rest of the day, and stated that technically, 12,600 and 12,500 points in the BIST 100 index are support, while 12,800 and 12,900 points are resistance.
