BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul started the day at 13,029.32 points with an increase of 0.77 percent.
BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul, which followed a sales-oriented trend yesterday, finished the day at 12,930.16 points, losing 1.81 percent of its value.
At the opening today, the BIST 100 index increased by 99.16 points and 0.77 percent compared to the previous closing, reaching 13,029.32 points. The banking index gained 1.83 percent and the holding index gained 0.58 percent.
Among the sector indices, the biggest gainer was mining with 2.63 percent, and the only decrease was chemistry, petroleum plastics with 0.63 percent.
Any news flow regarding developments in the Middle East continues to affect asset prices. In addition to the previous day’s statements that they were working on an agreement in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump’s statement yesterday that they were in negotiations with Iran increased hopes that the tensions in the region could end soon.
The fact that the tension in the region has not completely calmed down leads investors to act cautiously, and this prevents the markets from entering into a strong recovery.
Analysts stated that the unemployment rate and sectoral inflation expectations data in the country, the speech of ECB President Christine Lagarde, the current account balance in the USA and the inflation data in the UK will be followed today, and noted that technically, the 13,100 and 13,200 levels in the BIST 100 index are in a resistance position, while the 12,800 and 12,700 points are in a support position.
