According to the “Agricultural products producer price index” (Agriculture-PPI) announced by TÜİK for February, producer prices increased by 40.10 percent annually, 0.21 percent monthly, 8.69 percent in the two months of the year and 38.97 percent according to 12-month averages.
According to the second estimate of TURKSTAT’s vegetable production in lemon, the 2024 yield was 1 million 730 thousand tons, while last year it decreased by approximately 35 percent to 1 million 128 thousand tons.
According to TÜİK’s producer price index, the average price of lemon, which was around 30 lira after leaving the field in September and October last year, increased to 38 lira in November.
While the prices dropped to 29 liras in December as the harvest accelerated, they quickly rose above 40 liras in January. Lemon, which increased by 29 percent in February compared to January, increased by 410 percent compared to the same period last year and nearly doubled. Lemon rose nearly 79 percent compared to December.
