“Ask Maps” became available on the Google Maps application to users in the US and India starting March 12. The feature is available for both Android and iOS. The desktop version will also come soon.
At the first stage, there are no ads in “Ask Maps”. Ads are not currently part of this feature, but the possibility of them being added in the future is not completely ruled out. It is expected that local shows will be shown in this area in the future.
On the tracking and measurement side, standard display metrics in Google Maps will apply. So it’s likely the data will appear in Google Business Profile (GBP) reports, but it won’t be reported as a separate category for now.
If local search is important to your business, it is highly recommended to examine early on how your business appears in this system and how customer reviews and general listing information are included in the AI responses.
