US President Trump increases the pressure on Moscow to force peace for Ukraine. But the reaction there is sharp and clearly.

Russia’s former head of state Dmitri Medledew has rejected the customs announcements of US President Donald Trump in sharp words. If Trump is threatening to shorten deadlines to persuade Russia to give in conflict against Ukraine, he had to consider that every ultimatum was on the way to the war, Medvedev wrote on the platform X. “Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country,” threatened Medwedew. Trump shouldn’t go the path of his predecessor.

The Kremlin repeatedly emphasizes that it cannot be put under pressure. “Russia is not Israel or even Iran,” said Medledew with a view to the Middle East conflictin which the USA attacked Iran on the side of Israel to stop its nuclear program. As head of the National Security Council, the 59-year-old continues to have a lot of influence in Moscow.

The Ukrainian head of state Wolodymyr Selenskyj, on the other hand, praised Trump’s announcement as an important step towards peace. Russia is doing everything to extend the war and harm Ukraine, Selenskyj said in his evening video message. “We repeatedly emphasized – and all partners know that – that sanctions are a key element.” Peace through strength is possible because Russia feels the sanctions and the resulting losses, Selenskyj was optimistic.
