Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD) data, according to car sales in January-May period of this year increased by 5.1 percent compared to the same period last year, 394 thousand 327, light commercial vehicles decreased by 1.7 percent to 95 thousand 39 percent.
In the period in question, 189 thousand 676 gasoline cars in the Turkish car market, 109 thousand 398 hybrid cars were sold. The number of diesel automobile sales was 32 thousand 960, the number of automobile sales was 2 thousand 445. Only electrical -powered full electric car sales were recorded as 59 thousand 92.

Decrease in gasoline, diesel and autogas car sales

Market share of full electric cars increased to 15 percent
The share of gasoline cars in the first 5 months of last year in sales fell to 48.1 percent in the same period of this year. The share of diesel cars from 10.5 percent to 8.4 percent, the share of autogas cars fell from 0.7 percent to 0.6 percent.
The share of total sales in January-May increased from 7.4 percent to 15 percent in full electric cars and from 14.4 percent to 27.7 percent in hybrids.
Cars are considered as fully electric, extended range electric and hybrid, 42.9 percent of the total market, consists of vehicles with electric motors and total sales reached 169 thousand 246’ya. Thus, 4 out of every 10 cars sold in Türkiye consisted of electric or hybrid vehicles.
In the same period, Plug-in Hybrid, among hybrid vehicles, reached 20 thousand 812 sales and had 5.3 percent share. Compared to the same period last year, the increase was 1402.7 percent.
In May, a total of 16 thousand 802 “full electric” automobiles were sold. The market share of these cars in May was calculated as 19.7 percent.
