March 2026 data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute revealed the inflation table for the first three months of the year. While inflation increased by 1.94% on a monthly basis in March, the 3-month cumulative inflation covering the January-March period was calculated as 10.04%.
This rate creates a critical threshold for salary increases in July.
SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees guaranteed 10.04%
The raise calculation for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees is directly tied to 6-month inflation. As of the end of March, this segment has already deserved a 10.04% increase. Data to be announced in April, May and June will be added to this rate. According to economists, the total increase is expected to reach 15-17% with the effect of the remaining three months.
Critical threshold for civil servants and retired civil servants
The system works differently for civil servants and retired civil servants. The 11% collective agreement increase given for the first half of the year is considered the threshold for the inflation difference. As of the end of March, 3-month inflation remained just below this threshold at 10.04%. It is expected that this limit will be exceeded and the inflation difference will come into play with the April data.
According to the current table, when the 7% collective agreement increase to be implemented in July is taken into account, the basis for an increase of approximately 6% for civil servants and retired civil servants has been created.
