The TNC catchment area is mainly the central, northern and eastern communities of Pretoria. However, learners from other provinces such as Limpopo, North West and Mpumalanga have enrolled in various programmes in the College.
The College is offering nine programmes of the new National Certificate Vocational (NCV) curriculum. The nine programmes fall within the following fields: Engineering and Related Design, Civil Engineering and Construction, Electrical Infrastructure and Construction, Tourism & Hospitality, Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, Marketing and Economic & Accounting. The year 2007 saw the first intake of 915 students enroling for the NCV programmes at NQF level 2. This figure surpasses the target figure of 600 enrollments. Programmes falling within the Nated curriculum are being progressively phased out, as the new NCV programmes will be gaining momentum into NQF level 3. Skills and Learnerships programmes are under review with respect to relevancy and demand.
In order to support learners, basic literacy and numeracy software programs (Read Excellence & PLATO) have been implemented to enhance curriculum results. The main aim of this support mechanism is to ensure that learners are equipped and supported to handle academic requirements at the FET band. This programme is supported by Tutors, Communication and Nummeracy lecturers.
